Milford, CT - Milford motorcyclist died Monday morning after he struck the side of a tractor-trailer that was turning near Sikorsky Memorial Airport.
Bruce Tweedie, 45, of Fairview Street, died when his motorcycle hit the truck at Access Road and Sperry Avenue just before 8 a.m., police said.
Tweedie was transported to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was declared dead shortly after arrival, hospital spokesman John Cappiello confirmed Monday.
The tractor-trailer, driven by a New Jersey man, was making a left turn from Access Road onto Sperry Avenue when Tweedie struck its side, police said. The tractor-trailer was on its way to a business to deliver machine parts, police said.
The truck's operator remained on scene after the accident and was not injured. No one has been charged, police Capt.
Harvey L. Maxwell said Monday. "It's way too early for that," he said. Police are also investigating a Thursday night accident that left a town resident clinging to life in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital Monday.
Douglas Dawdy, 22, of Canaan Road, was hit at 10:25 p.m. Thursday night on Broadbridge Avenue north of Barnum Avenue, police said
