Little Rock, AR - A boat-maker is suing vacationers it says was partly responsible for injuries to one of their companions on Beaver Lake in August 2001.

Sea-Ark Marine sued the injured man's step-grandfather, who owned the boat, and the driver of the boat at the time of the boating accident.

They contend that they were at fault for hitting Aaron Matthew Holleb of Texas after he was thrown from the boat.

The lawsuit says Holleb's relative, Donald Priest, was negligent for relinquishing control of the boat to the driver, Justin Nicholas Williams.

According to the lawsuit, Mr. Williams did not sufficiently know the area, was driving at excessive speeds and had allowed Holleb to be in an unsafe area of the boat.

A lawsuit in state court by Holleb said he suffered severe injuries when the boat struck an underwater obstruction, tossing Holleb into the water, where he was hit by the boat's propellar.

Seaark contends any damages in the case should be split among the company and Holleb's two companions, according to their share of the blame.
